Elders are now being attacked and detained on the front lines and many folks with Red Warrior Camp have been detained multiple times. It is important, especially for white allies, to understand your privilege and how to use it by willing to take risk and also being able to provide vital assistance to the functions and operations of the camp by supporting in the kitchens, with chopping wood and other tasks.
The #NoDAPL movement is an Indigenous, more specifically Native people led movement. People that come to camp are expected to follow this leadership. Allies are encouraged to educate themselves before arriving at camp. We are asking folks to come to camp for at least one week long stays at camp. We need waves of people to come to camp between now and January 2017. It is critical for people to come to camp RIGHT NOW, and also important for people to commit to being at camp during the holidays.
Once you register we will follow up with more about what to bring, directions for arriving at camp and more information.
