UPDATE 9-23-16 Lee Camp on Prison Labor REALITY!

Ever Wonder WHY the US has MORE PEOPLE IN PRISON than any other country? Here ya go…

WHY are we NOT seeing anything about this current SLAVERY right here in the USA?? Because Big Business TAKES advantage of these slaves. Across the country, inmates, often paid little or nothing for their labor, are going on strike demanding better treatment, pay, housing conditions and medical care. The strikes began on the 45th anniversary of the 1971 Attica Prison uprising in New York.

EXCERPT from Update 9-22 When slavery was abolished in the United States in 1865, the focus on free labor shifted from human ownership, to forced prison labor. This practice has been exploited for a very long time and the companies that prosper from it, the list of which includes American corporate giants like Wal Mart, McDonald’s, Victoria’s Secret and a long list of others, are generating huge revenues by people who are reportedly paid 2 cents to $1.15 per hour.

Additionally 9-22 EXCERPT Prison labor in the United States is referred to as insourcing. Under the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC), employers receive a tax credit of $2,400 for every work-release inmate they employ as a reward for hiring “risky target groups.” The workers are not only cheap labor, but they are considered easier to control. They also tend to be African-American males. Companies are free to avoid providing benefits like health insurance or sick days. They also don’t need to worry about unions, demands for vacation time, raises or family issues.
